During their packed industry panel at New York Comic Con, premier publisher Yen Press revealed a robust slate of upcoming light novel and manga licenses. The announcement roster spans multiple genres, ranging from cosmic science fiction and historical fantasy to culinary spin-offs and supernatural romance.
Light Novel Additions
Among the prose highlights is Fate/strange Fake, written by Ryohgo Narita with concept design by TYPE-MOON. Set years after the Fifth Holy Grail War, this iteration unfolds in Snowfield, California, where a fraudulent ritual gathers mages and heroic spirits fighting for their own convictions rather than the Grail itself. Joining it is the classic introspective journey of Kino's Journey by Keiichi Sigsawa, featuring illustrations by Kouhaku Kuroboshi as they explore human nature across various surreal nations.
Other notable light novel acquisitions include The Girls Adrift Among the Stars by Yuiko Agarizaki and Fuwan Sono, following space refugees in a carriage-shaped spaceship, alongside Amahara and Jun's Dungeon Master: Creating a Hot Spring Dungeon.
Manga Slate Highlights
The manga lineup introduces Spice and Wolf Diner: Gourmet Exploration by Sera Murase and Isuna Hasekura, which transports Holo and Lawrence to modern-day Japan alongside authentic recipes from the beloved universe. Additional picks include Yasuhiro's high-speed Steam-Pipe Broom Racing, Makoto Tōdō's coal-punk thriller The Ice-Core Meteoria, and Umi Ishida's eerie seaside encounter tale, Mermaid Observation Diary.
