During their panel at Anime NYC, Abrams ComicArts and their dedicated graphic novel imprint Kana revealed an eclectic slate of upcoming English manga localizations. Stretching across the calendar up to late 2027, the newly acquired titles highlight a diverse mix of moods, spanning historical mystery, architectural coziness, and unrelenting slasher horror.
Leading the upcoming roster is Children of the Afterlife (Kakuriyo no Sennichi Hina) by Yamakujira, slated for June 1, 2027. Set against the atmospheric backdrop of the Meiji era, the narrative bridges Japanese folklore with historical mystery, centering on a spiritual errand-runner who gathers souls whose mortal time has expired.
For readers drawn to domestic tranquility and quiet introspection, Kana has secured Happy at Home (Ie ga Suki na Hito) by Chiaki Ida for May 4, 2027, alongside Good Morning Leon by Kai Kitagō on August 3, 2027. The former presents a full-color exploration into the domestic routines of five women, while the latter chronicles the gentle daily rhythms of a grumpy gentleman and his feline companion, Jack.
Rounding out the announcement schedule are workplace romance Why we fall in love (Watashi-tachi ga Koisuru Riyū) by ma2 arriving September 7, 2027, and Pumpkin Night, a brutal slasher horror penned by Masaya Hokazono with artwork by Seima Taniguchi, slated for October 5, 2027. The slate concludes with Soon the Fog Clears by QTONAGI on November 2, 2027, bringing a philosophical and antique atmosphere about a spirit waking up in the realm of the dead without memories of his passing.
