Major English manga and light novel publisher Yen Press has officially unveiled its latest wave of acquisitions, bringing a diverse array of fresh titles, speculative fiction, and highly anticipated anthologies to Western readers. The newly licensed lineup spans imaginative fantasy light novels, psychological thrillers, and unique character-driven manga series.
Among the headline light novel acquisitions is Kafka's Journey, written by Chizuru Mizushina with illustrations by Haruyuki Morisawa. The story follows a young girl living in an isolated underground village on a floating island who longs to explore the outside world using her late grandfather's airplane. Other notable novel pickups include Oh Boy, Was I Wrong About Her by Hibariyu and siso, alongside The Returned Tyrant Princess Rewrites Her Dark Past by Hiironoame and Tetsuhiro Nabeshima.
The manga slate is equally packed with creative talent. Highlights include Exchange Parties with Anthropomorphic Figures, a luxury anthology curated by the HARTA Editorial Department featuring contributions from notable creators such as Ryōko Kui (Delicious in Dungeon), Suzuka Morino, and Hachi Inaba. Other fresh additions range from Gagane's dark battle royale thriller Monster of Absolute Evil to Paregoric's occult mystery Chewed Flesh, Ground Bones set against the backdrop of 1999.
In addition to print books, Yen Press confirmed expansion into audio formats, announcing upcoming audiobooks for Mamoru Hosoda's critically acclaimed Mirai and Yomu Mishima and Pinakes' Valkyrie Bullet light novels. Release dates and precise ordering windows for the newly announced catalog will roll out across major retailers in the coming months.
