Manga creator Toshiaki Yamada has officially concluded his high-octane battle series Tokyo Duel (Tokyo Kettō Kanjōsen). The final chapter made its digital debut on Coamix's Comic Zenon+ website on September 23, with publisher Coamix confirming that the series' 22nd and final compiled book volume will hit Japanese shelves on November 20.
Territorial Warfare on the Yamanote Line
First serialized on Comic Zenon+ in 2020, Tokyo Duel established a brutal urban combat premise set against Japan's iconic railway network. The story centers on a government-sanctioned arena system known as the "Tokyo Loop Line Duels," where representatives from each station along the Yamanote Line compete in hand-to-hand combat for local territorial dominance.
In post-war Japan, a government-funded program of organized violence called the "Tokyo Loop Line Duels" is promoted to maintain law and order—and it works. Representatives from each station on the Yamanote line battle for control of their territory. Any defeat could mean losing family members, friends, money—or worse. Fast-forward to now, in 2020; a new station has opened up. Everyone, including the popular rookie, Koinosuke, is itching to join the fray for the top spot. Will he be victorious? Or will violence consume them all?
The digital English publication of the manga is handled directly by Coamix alongside digital reader platform Comikey, offering global fans access to Yamada's martial arts tournament saga.
