Author KOJIRO's supernatural action manga Ura-Tokyo: Exorcist City is reaching its conclusion. The 42nd issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine has officially announced that the series will print its final chapter in the following issue scheduled for release on September 24.
The story takes place in a dark underworld beneath Japan's capital, following a cursed student forced to navigate a high-stakes exorcism academy. Official distributor K MANGA describes the premise as follows:
Beneath Tokyo lies “Ura-Tokyo,” a shadowed counterpart to the city we think we know. There, a secret academy trains exorcists to battle evil spirits. After entering the forbidden grove of Madara Shirazunomori Forest, Soma Kuroniwa is cursed to harbor a spirit of exceptional danger. Hiding his true nature, he enrolls in the academy and throws himself into its brutal training program—one with a graduation rate of only a few percent.
Ura-Tokyo: Exorcist City originally launched in Weekly Shōnen Magazine on March 17 alongside a simultaneous digital release in English on the K MANGA platform. Publisher Kodansha released the manga's second compiled tankōbon volume on August 17.
