The 43rd issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine announced on Thursday that Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail Re:Fantasia manga miniseries will conclude in its next chapter in the 44th issue on September 30.
The commemorative miniseries initially launched in the 35th issue of the magazine on July 29, celebrating the enduring legacy of the magical guild franchise. The original Fairy Tail manga serialization ran from 2006 through July 2017, establishing a massive global footprint under Kodansha's publication umbrella.
Franchise Legacy and Expanded Universe
Over nearly two decades, the adventures of the notorious mage guild have expanded into an expansive multimedia empire. The property has inspired four television anime series, two feature-length anime films, numerous original video animation projects, and multiple spinoff manga series. Kodansha USA Publishing handles English distribution for the original work and various spinoff titles.
In addition to the main series and its various offshoots, the sequel manga Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest—illustrated by Atsuo Ueda under Mashima's supervision—received a television anime adaptation that premiered in July 2024. The ecosystem also extends into interactive media, highlighted by Ginolabo's dungeon-crawler title released across modern gaming platforms.
