The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Kuzushiro’s acclaimed yuri manga The Moon on a Rainy Night has officially pulled back the curtain, releasing its first promotional trailer and confirming a 2027 premiere window. Spearheaded by studio CompTown, the project brings together a dedicated creative team to adapt the touching romantic drama serialized in Kodansha’s Comic Days.
Leading the voice cast for the adaptation are renowned voice actress Sora Amamiya stepping into the role of Kanon Oikawa, alongside Iori Saeki as Saki Kindaichi. The newly dropped preview offers viewers a first atmospheric glimpse at the studio's visual approach, highlighting the delicate emotional beats that define the original publication.

Behind the camera, the series is guided by director Tomoe Makino, working from scripts and series composition handled by Shogo Yasukawa. Character designs are crafted by Ayumi Nishibata, while the instrumental atmosphere is composed by jizue. The Moon on a Rainy Night
The narrative follows Saki Kindaichi, who encounters the striking Kanon Oikawa just before starting high school. After discovering they are classmates, Saki learns that Kanon is hard of hearing and often isolated by her peers. Compelled to reach out against the cold indifference of their school environment, Saki sparks an unfolding connection that gradually reshapes both of their worlds.
