Bandai Namco Filmworks has officially announced that veteran singer Junko Yagami will perform the ending theme song titled "Haruka e, Eien e" (To the Distance, To Eternity) for Nijiiro no Rinne (Rainbow-Colored Reincarnation). The upcoming feature serves as the seventh and final film in the ambitious Star Blazers: Be Forever Yamato - Rebel 3199 theatrical project, continuing the legendary sci-fi franchise's modern reboot series.
Yagami is no stranger to the iconic space opera property, having previously contributed an ending theme to the historic 1983 Final Yamato anime film. Alongside the musical announcement, production studio Bandai Namco Filmworks revealed a rainbow-colored key visual crafted by character designer Nobuteru Yūki, highlighting the cast ahead of the feature's nationwide theatrical debut in Japan.
The seventh film is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on October 30. Crunchyroll continues to stream the overall serialized project internationally under the title Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199. The enterprise unfolds across seven distinct cinematic chapters, following previous entries like the sixth film, Aoi Meikyū (Blue Labyrinth), which arrived earlier this summer.
The production features direction by Naomichi Yamato, with veteran writer Harutoshi Fukui acting as supervising director, head writer, and scriptwriter alongside co-writer Hideki Oka. Musical composition is managed by Akira Miyagawa and Shū Kanematsu, building upon the timeless orchestral legacy established by the late Hiroshi Miyagawa.
