During the Muv-Luv Presents 2026 livestream, developer Age announced that the two acclaimed Schwarzesmarken visual novels—Kōketsu no Monshō (Crest of Red Blood) and Junkyōsha-tachi (Martyrs)—are officially making their way to Steam. The upcoming PC releases will feature multilingual support, including Japanese, English, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

Set in an alternate 1983 East Germany, the original light novels written by Hiroki Uchida follow the grueling operations of the 666th TSF Squadron as humanity fights a desperate war against the extraterrestrial BETA. Serving as a prequel spin-off to Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse, the darker military narrative explores trench warfare and political paranoia alongside high-octane mecha combat against alien invaders.

The franchise previously inspired a 12-episode television anime series in January 2016, directed by Tetsuya Watanabe at studios Ixtl and LIDEN FILMS, with a sweeping orchestral score composed by Elements Garden and Evan Call. While release timing and store pages for the Steam ports will be revealed via official social media channels at a later date, this announcement marks a major milestone for fans looking to experience the complete tactical warfare saga in English.
