The official website for the upcoming television adaptation of Reborn as a Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship! (Mezametara Saikyō Sōbi to Uchūsen Mochi Datta no de, Ikkodate Mezashite Yōhei Toshite Jiyū ni Ikitai) light novel series has revealed its main promotional video, two additional cast members, and a striking key visual. The freshly released preview offers fans a first listen to the opening theme song titled "Unstoppable," performed by the veteran rock band FLOW.
The adaptation is slated to premiere on October 4 on Tokyo MX, broadcasting during the evening block at 9:30 p.m. JST. International audiences will be able to follow the interstellar adventures as Crunchyroll handles the global streaming distribution.
Cast Additions & Production Lineup
Expanding the voice cast, the production announced the inclusion of Saori Ōnishi as Shoko and Kana Ueda as Mei.
They join an already robust ensemble cast featuring Makoto Furukawa as the protagonist Hiro, alongside Konomi Inagaki as Mimi, Anna Nagase as Elma, and Haruka Shiraishi as Serena.
Production is anchored at Studio A-Cat, with Norihiko Nagahama directing the series. The intricate narrative scripts are overseen by Takamitsu Kōno, while Masami Sueoka adapts the character designs for animation. Musical composition is handled by Kenta Higashiohji, complemented by the metal band ASTERISM performing the ending theme song, "My Way."
Franchise Background
Originally launched by author Ryūto on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in February 2019, the light novel series was acquired for print publication by Kadokawa with illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. A manga adaptation illustrated by Shinichi Matsui subsequently launched on ComicWalker in late 2019, with both formats licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.
