The official website for the television anime adaptation of Ryuto's Mezametara Saikyou Soubi to Uchuusenmochi Datta node, Ikkodate Mezashite Youhei toshite Jiyuu ni Ikitai, widely known as Reborn as a Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship!, has delivered a major update. The production team confirmed an October 4 premiere starting on Tokyo MX, accompanying the announcement with a brand-new promotional video, key visual artwork, additional cast additions, and official theme song details.
Joining the expanding voice cast are Kana Ueda as Shouko and Saori Oonishi as Mei. Behind the scenes, the series is being brought to life at Studio A-CAT under the direction of Norihiko Nagahama. Takamitsu Kouno is overseeing the series composition, while Masami Sueoka handles character designs, and Kenta Higashiooji crafts the musical score. On the musical front, renowned rock band FLOW will energize viewers with the opening theme 'UNSTOPPABLE,' which receives its first preview in the new promotional trailer. Meanwhile, instrumental rock group ASTERISM steps in to perform the ending theme, 'MY WAY.'
Ryuto originally launched the vast sci-fi isekai light novel series on the Shousetsuka ni Narou platform in February 2019. Kadokawa soon acquired the property, publishing the volumes under the Kadokawa Books imprint with atmospheric illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. A manga adaptation illustrated by Shunichi Matsui followed via the ComicWalker service in late 2019, with Seven Seas Entertainment handling international English localizations for both formats.
