Nearly fifteen years after its conclusion in the pages of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump, Toshiaki Iwashiro's psychic battle survival thriller Psyren finally makes its leap to television. The series officially launches today, October 5, 2026, bringing the high-stakes speculative fiction back into the spotlight. To mark the premiere, Satelight has released a high-velocity, non-credit opening sequence featuring the track 'WARNING!!' by CLAN QUEEN.
Directed by Katsumi Ono at studio Satelight, the production boasts an impressive voice cast. Rikuya Yasuda steps into the role of protagonist Ageha Yoshina, starring alongside Maho Kazama as Sakurako Amamiya, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Hiryu Asaha, Soma Saito as Oboro Mochizuki, Yukihiro Nozuyama as Kabuto Kirisaki, Yuko Kaida as Matsuri Yakumo, and Hozumi Gintama as Dorki. The narrative centers on Ageha, a high school student who uncovers a mysterious red telephone card linked to a dangerous urban legend known as the Psyren Secret Society, dragging ordinary youths into a deadly game across a crumbling future reality.
The newly unveiled opening video showcases the stark contrast between contemporary society and the desolate, ruined future depicted in the manga, highlighting the desperate struggles of Ageha and his allies. Alongside the PV, the production team has shared a series of celebratory illustrations crafted by notable manga creators who share a professional kinship with Iwashiro. Contributors include Naoya Matsumoto (Kaiju No. 8), Yuji Tabata (Black Clover), Ryuhei Tamura (Beelzebub), Yujiro Sakamoto, and Daisuke Miyata.
As Psyren enters its broadcast run on Tokyo MX, BS11, and streaming platforms including ABEMA and Crunchyroll-adjacent services, longtime readers can finally witness the dark psychic survival game animated with modern production values.
