The official production team for the television anime adaptation of Naruki’s romantic comedy manga Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun (Glasses with a chance of Delinquent) has officially confirmed an April 2027 premiere date. Alongside the scheduling window, the adaptation dropped a brand-new promotional video, unveiling key character voices and the core creative team steering the project.
Production & Cast
The series is currently in production under the direction of Makoto Hoshino, known for his work on Banished from the Hero's Party. Animation duties are being shared between Studio Flad and WAO World. Meanwhile, series composition is being anchored by Megumi Shimizu (Tomo-chan Is a Girl!), with character designs crafted by Ruriko Watanabe.
The newly announced voice cast features:
- Hiroto Shimizu as Dan Ichikura
- Suzuko hara as Hiro Momose
- Yuma Tomochika as Ohana-chan
Manga Origins
Naruki launched the original manga series in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Friend magazine back in January 2021, with the publisher shipping the eleventh collected volume in May. International readers have also embraced the property, with Seven Seas Entertainment licensing the English edition, bringing the charming romantic comedy to overseas audiences.
The anime will broadcast across ABC TV and TV Asahi's nationwide network during the ANiMAZiNG!!! programming block, with streaming provisions via ABEMA and television broadcasts on BS11.
