In a joint milestone celebration marking 30 years of Story of Seasons and 20 years of Rune Factory, developer Marvelous offered gamers their first look at the future of both beloved life-simulation franchises. During a special anniversary livestream, the studio debuted preliminary footage for the next mainline entry in the Story of Seasons series, alongside the initial teaser reel for Rune Factory 6.
Anniversary Teasers
The broadcast spotlighted brief visual previews for both projects, signaling active production following recent releases across multiple console platforms. Marvelous previously indicated that two distinct Story of Seasons titles are currently in development—one designed as a traditional single-player experience and another focusing on multiplayer interactions. Meanwhile, Rune Factory 6 marks the next formal step forward for the fantasy RPG spin-off line, following the recent launch of spin-off title Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma (formerly known as Project Dragon).
Franchise Momentum
These reveals build upon a busy release window for Marvelous. The studio recently brought Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar—a remake of the 2008 Nintendo DS classic—to modern platforms, including Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. As both iconic series reach significant anniversaries, Marvelous continues to expand its reach across current-generation hardware and PC platforms.
