Nintendo has released a comprehensive overview trailer for Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, offering tactical RPG enthusiasts a deep look at the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 title ahead of its September 17 release. The extensive promotional video details the strategic combat system, diverse class trees, character progression, and the hub-based Free Time activities available in the capital city of Dagsion.
The narrative revolves around the Heroic Games, following four distinct protagonists: Cai, a young boy seeking to save his father; Dietrich the swordsman; Theodora the queen; and Leda, a musician driven by vengeance. Players will also encounter familiar faces, including Sothis from 2019's Fire Emblem: Three Houses, who plays a recurring role in the unfolding mythology.
Combat Mechanics and Character Classes
The tactical turn-based combat brings back staple weapon categories such as swords, lances, axes, bows, gauntlets, and arcane magic. Units draw power from both returning Combat Arts, which consume weapon durability, and new Blaze Arts that trade health points for devastating offensive output. Character progression spans Beginner, Specialty, and Advanced tiers across specialized classes, including shido, bardingers, bishops, gladiators, diviners, ornius riders, armored knights, wing riders, charioteers, cataphracts, guardians, and elephant riders.
Between strategic skirmishes and dungeon crawls, players utilize the Free Time system in Dagsion to train combatants at the arena, accept quests, recruit allies, and secure tactical blessings at Temple Row. A narrative hub feature allows players to switch perspectives among the four main characters at the Pale Raven's Perch, facilitating parallel progression across the interwoven storylines.

Alongside the standard version, Nintendo confirmed the upcoming release of the Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Dagdan Collection. This premium special edition packs a steel game case, character art cards, an expansive artbook, and a detailed physical map of Dagda.
Ahead of the game's console debut, a prologue manga launched in Shueisha's Saikyō Jump magazine and on the Shonen Jump+ digital platform, penned by Fire Emblem Engage manga creator Kazurō Kyō.
