Publisher FuRyu has officially showcased a brand-new gameplay trailer for CRYMELIGHT, expanding its signature line of dark bishojo action titles. Alongside the promotional footage, a playable demo has launched across Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam, giving players an early taste of the title's atmospheric combat mechanics.
The Next Chapter in the CRY Legacy
CRYMELIGHT serves as the newest installment in FuRyu's acclaimed CRY franchise, following the psychological action RPGs CRYSTAR released in 2018 and CRYMACHINA in 2023. Built around roguelike mechanics, the game is scheduled to launch globally on November 5 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam. Collectors and dedicated fans can also look forward to a specialized deluxe edition featuring six downloadable content items, a digital artbook, and an expansive soundtrack album containing eleven musical tracks alongside three voice drama segments.
The narrative centers on a young protagonist known only as “Alice.” Awakening with absolute amnesia, she discovers that her only path to salvation requires descending into the deepest tiers of Purgatory to earn her resurrection. Operating from a sanctuary known as “The Tea Party Hall,” Alice ventures outward to cleanse corrupted souls, confront her buried transgressions, and endure profound emotional evolution.
Veteran Creative Talent Returns
The development team features several returning veterans from previous entries in the series. Naoki Hisaya oversees plot and scenario supervision, bringing his distinct narrative sensibilities back to the CRY universe. Musical composition is handled by returning artist Sakuzyo, with animation direction led by RIRI Yamashita. Character designs are crafted by YOGISYA, establishing the striking aesthetic identity of the project.
Following the events of 2019's CRYSTAR and 2023's CRYMACHINA, CRYMELIGHT follows a young girl known only as “Alice” after she wakes up with no memories of her past and discovers she must journey to the lowest layer of Purgatory to earn her “Rebirth.”

Voice actress Hitomi Sekine lends her talents in-character as Mary to perform the official theme song, titled “Love and Guilt.” With its unique dual-realm structure pitting the oppressive prison of Wonderland against the sanctuary of the Tea Party, the title promises another haunting exploration of suffering, redemption, and artificial consciousness.
