Talent agency Intention has officially announced that it will permanently cease operations and dissolve on March 31, 2027. The decision follows ongoing medical guidance regarding the health of its founder and owner, veteran voice actor Kenichi Suzumura, who was previously diagnosed with an adjustment disorder.
According to the agency's official statement, medical professionals advised that Suzumura's recovery cannot progress while he remains burdened by corporate management responsibilities. Consequently, the celebrated voice actor made the difficult choice to close the company entirely. Intention has confirmed that management and support operations for all affiliated talent will continue normally until the scheduled dissolution date.
Agency Legacy and Affiliated Talent
Founded by Suzumura in 2009, Intention grew into a prominent home for several of the most recognizable voices in the modern anime industry. Over nearly two decades, the agency fostered the careers of elite performers including Yūichi Nakamura, Aya Endō, Nao Tōyama, Yūma Uchida, and Shōya Ishige. The agency has assured fans and industry partners that it will provide comprehensive support to help its roster transition to new representation ahead of the closure.
Suzumura's health struggles first prompted a temporary hiatus from voice acting in May 2024, followed by a subsequent leave of absence in February 2026. Although he gradually resumed select performance work in June 2026, the ongoing demands of running a talent agency proved incompatible with his long-term recovery, prompting this historic industry wind-down.
