Oreco Tachibana's gripping dark romance manga Hotaru no Yomeiri (Hotaru's Marriage) is officially making the jump to live-action television. Fuji TV announced that the adaptation is scheduled to broadcast across its network in 2027, arriving hot on the heels of the series' ongoing television anime adaptation.
Set against the backdrop of the advancing civilization of the Meiji era, Hotaru no Yomeiri follows Satoko Kirigaya, a young noblewoman with a terminal heart condition who dreams of bringing honor to her father through an advantageous marriage. Her life takes a dangerous turn when she encounters Shinpei Goto, an obsessive hitman who grows intensely infatuated with her, sparking a perilous and twisted tale of forbidden devotion. The source material, penned by Tachibana—known for Promise Cinderella—has cultivated a dedicated readership via Shogakukan's MangaONE platform.
