The official production team for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Oreco Tachibana's historical romance web manga Hotaru no Yomeiri (Firefly Wedding) has shared major updates. The series is officially scheduled to broadcast starting October 9 at 11:30 p.m. on Fuji TV's prestigious noitaminA programming block, bringing the high-stakes period romance to life on screen.
Production Team and StaffAnimation production is being handled by David Production, with Takahiro Kamei taking the director's chair. The series composition and scripts are managed by Yuuko Kakihara, while Yukiko Aikyou provides character designs. Additionally, the project's concept art is being shaped by Yasufumi Soejima, with music composition led by KAY, Kouichi Satou, and Nic Gitter.
Alongside the staff roster, the official channels debuted the first promotional video, offering an atmospheric look at the historical setting and character dynamics. The PV also previews the series' opening theme song titled "Period," performed by singer-songwriter iri.
Oreco Tachibana originally launched the historical romance manga on Shogakukan's MangaONE platform in January 2023, with Shogakukan publishing the 12th compiled volume in June. International readers have also embraced the narrative, with Comikey beginning English digital serialization in 2023 followed by physical publishing rights acquired by Viz Media.
