The eagerly awaited adaptation of Aki Irie's mystery drama manga Go with the Clouds, North-by-Northwest (known in Japan as Hokuhokusei ni Kumo to Yuke) has officially unveiled its premier production details. Set for a 2027 broadcast debut, the series released its atmospheric key visual alongside two promotional trailers, giving fans a pristine look at the atmospheric Icelandic setting.
The newly dropped trailers spotlight the series’ idiosyncratic 17-year-old protagonist, Kei Miyama, who will be brought to life by voice actor Tomohiro Ono. Additionally, Netflix secured the worldwide streaming rights for the project, immediately publishing an English-subtitled edition of the teaser for international audiences.
Production Pedigree and Creative Staff
Animation production is anchored by Qzil.la, assembling a powerhouse creative team behind the lens. Takashi Sano, recognized for his work as the chief director on the first season of Tower of God, is directing the series and overseeing composition. He is joined by director Yosuke Kubo (Champignon Witch, Dahlia in Bloom) and character designer Chikashi Kubota, whose stellar animation credentials include seasons one through three of One-Punch Man.

Aki Irie originally launched the sweeping mystery narrative in Kadokawa’s Harta magazine in March 2016, later transitioning through Aokishi and subsequent publication houses. Kodansha USA handles the English localization of the manga, establishing the premise:
The story takes place in Iceland, at land’s end, 64ºN. Kei Miyama is a 17-year-old with three secrets: he can talk to cars, he can’t handle pretty girls, and he works as a private investigator.
