Aniplex and TYPE-MOON studio BB have unveiled a dedicated character showcase for Fate/Extra Record, spotlighting the fan-favorite Heroic Spirit Archer. Voiced once again by Junichi Suwabe, the iconic bowman takes center stage in a new promotional video premiered during the Aniplex One Focus livestream event. Alongside the media reveal, the publisher confirmed that the long-anticipated RPG remake will launch worldwide on January 28 across Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
The announcement follows a turbulent multi-year development cycle marked by shifting publisher deals and internal realignments. Originally revealed in July 2020 to mark the 10th anniversary of the original PlayStation Portable title, development hit delays when Bandai Namco Entertainment departed as co-publisher. Aniplex has since taken over global publishing duties, while Marvelous Europe manages distribution across European and Australian markets. Director Kazuya Nino also recently departed TYPE-MOON studio BB due to personal health reasons, leaving the title under restructured studio leadership.
