The official website for Rakuen Tsuihō -Expelled from Paradise- Kokoro no Resonance (Heart's Resonance), the highly anticipated feature-length sequel to the acclaimed 2014 original sci-fi anime film, has debuted an official trailer. The promotional video offers fans a comprehensive look at the upcoming project and previews the theme song "Beyond the Night" performed by TeddyLoid featuring Ayane Sakura as Gabriel and Nagi Inoue of Nogizaka46. The single is slated for a digital release on November 11, followed by a physical CD launch on November 18.
Scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on November 13, the sequel reunites the celebrated core creative team behind the original feature. Directed by Seiji Mizushima with a script penned by Gen Urobuchi of Nitroplus, the film also features character designs by Masatsugu Saitō and musical compositions by NARASAKI, with animation production handled by Toei Animation. Alongside returning protagonist Angela Balzac, voiced once more by Rie Kugimiya, the cast expands to include new angelic figures voiced by Ayane Sakura, Saori Hayami, Yoshino Aoyama, Sally Amaki, and Sumire Morohoshi.
The broader franchise is also expanding into interactive media with a newly announced video game titled Expelled from Paradise -The Stellar Angel-, featuring an original story set to launch on November 26 for the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. This dual rollout of both a theatrical sequel and a companion game underscores the enduring legacy of the intellectual property, which originally captivated audiences with its groundbreaking 3D cel-shaded aesthetic a decade ago.
