Shibuya Halloween Reveal
During a promotional Halloween event hosted at Shibuya Modi in Tokyo, acclaimed actor Toma Ikuta made a surprise appearance alongside lead voice actress Mei Hata. Hata stars as Billy Dough, a modern high school student who finds herself transported to the magical realm of Hex. Ikuta steps into the role of Beef Roger Clamchuck, a cynical yet protective three-eyed cat familiar serving as Billy's magical guide throughout her journey.
First Voice Acting Role for Toma Ikuta
The role marks Ikuta's debut as a voice actor following a rigorous audition process conducted by Disney's international creative team. Having spent nearly three decades in mainstream Japanese film and television, Ikuta expressed enthusiasm for bringing depth to Beef—a character living out his ninth life as an eccentric mentor figure.
I have waited a long time for an opportunity like this. Beef is a complex character with a sharp tongue, but beneath that prickly exterior lies deep affection and loyalty to Billy.
