The theatrical feature for the TV anime series, titled Eiga Meitantei Precure! Fushigi na Niwa to 2-nin no Himitsu, is scheduled to open across Japanese theaters on September 18, 2026. Ahead of its autumn premiere, the production team released design concept sheets for three film-original characters who hold the keys to the mystery: Karin, alongside twin-like fairy companions Alan and Rein. Director Hanako Ueda and character designer Emiko Miyamoto also shared production insights detailing the creative decisions behind these original figures.
Designing Nuance
At the center of the theatrical narrative stands Karin, an ordinary girl passionate about baking. Character designer Emiko Miyamoto noted that capturing her subtle, relatable charm required careful balance, as she lacked over-the-top fantastical features. Working under Director Hanako Ueda's mandate to create a grounded yet approachable heroine, Miyamoto incorporated gentle details such as hair tips with a soft pink gradient, heart-shaped hair buns, and longer front bangs styled after contemporary aesthetic trends.
To accompany Karin, the production team designed two distinct fairy figures, Alan and Rein, whose visual identities draw direct inspiration from Siberian Huskies. Designed as complementary opposites, their silhouettes, hair flow, and outfits mirror one another in contrast. In human form, Rein appears formal with a neat tie, whereas Alan adopts a relaxed collar. Miyamoto highlighted that their capes were carefully calibrated to maintain a casual feel without making them look overly like formal knights or traditional standard original characters.

Alongside character sheets, new preview stills depict Karin taking a courageous step forward, alongside scenes of Alan shielding her in moments of tension and Rein displaying a gentle, bittersweet expression.
