Toei Animation has expanded the promotional campaign for Detective Precure! The Movie: The Mysterious Garden and the Secret of Two, revealing ten distinct character posters alongside an official trailer and tutorial preview. Scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release in Japan on September 18, 2026, the feature film serves as a landmark cinematic entry for the 23rd television installment of the long-running franchise.
The narrative of the current television broadcast revolves around Anna Akechi (voiced by Hikari Senga), a young girl who is transported from 2027 back to the year 1999 alongside her fairy companion Pochitan. Partnering with aspiring sleuth Mikuru Kobayashi (voiced by Kaede Hondo) and the self-proclaimed genius fairy Jet-senpai (voiced by Yuki Kaji), she forms the Kyuatto Detective Agency to retrieve stolen goods from the Phantom Thieves and resolve mysterious cases.
Mysteries in the Garden
The newly unveiled character visuals highlight the central quartet—Cure Answer, Cure Mystic, Cure Eclair, Cure Arcana, and Cure Arcana Shadow—while introducing movie-original figures Karin, Alan, and Rain. In addition, the artwork confirms crossover appearances from previous franchise entries, including characters from Kimi to Idol Precure♪ and Wonderful Precure!.
The main promotional video offers a closer look at the film's setting: an enchanted garden harbouring a mysterious corruption. The footage showcases the magical detectives struggling against overwhelming odds before staging a stand alongside their allies. Furthermore, the theatrical experience marks the return of the interactive participation light after a three-year hiatus, demonstrated in an official tutorial video centered on the Pochitan Miracle Light.
