To mark the 10th anniversary of the beloved idol anime series, Bandai Namco Pictures has announced that the brand-new theatrical feature Aikatsu Stars! ~Hoshiboshi no Progress~ will open across Japanese cinemas on January 22, 2027. Along with the official date, the production unveiled a striking key visual, a full trailer previewing original music, and a special promotional ambassador campaign.
First launched in 2016 as a successor to the original Aikatsu! line, the franchise chronicled Yume Nijino and her classmates striving to conquer the heights of Four Star Academy. The anniversary movie moves the timeline forward to the precipice of graduation, setting the idols on course for the international "Venus Jamboree" concert after receiving an invitation from Elza Forte's Neo Venus Ark, while a mysterious ship named "Petit Venus Ark" disrupts their horizons.
