WIT Studio has officially unveiled the very first key visual for The One Piece, their highly anticipated modern anime adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's legendary manga. The promotional artwork directly mirrors the iconic color spread from Chapter 1 of the original publication, bridging over two decades of manga history with contemporary animation techniques. Netflix has confirmed that the upcoming series will launch all seven episodes of its inaugural season simultaneously in February 2027, covering the entire East Blue saga up to the fateful encounter at the Baratie sea restaurant.
Spearheaded by director Masashi Koizuka, renowned for his visceral work on Attack on Titan, the production boasts an exceptional roster of industry veterans. Assistant director Hideaki Abe, character designers Kyoji Asano and Takatoshi Honda, and series composer Taku Kishimoto are collaborating to reconstruct the foundational maritime epic. Studio executives have noted that the project was conceived to address modern viewing barriers, translating the sprawling narrative into a sleek, high-fidelity format tailored for contemporary audiences.
The reimagined adaptation comes as part of a multi-pronged expansion of the franchise, running parallel to Toei Animation's ongoing broadcast and Netflix's live-action adaptations. Veteran voice actor Mayumi Tanaka is confirmed to return, lending her unmistakable cadence to Monkey D. Luffy.
