The ONE PIECE anime has officially wrapped up its broadcast schedule for the year following the premiere of Episode 1180 on September 27. Bringing an intense close to the current adaptation block, the series will take an extended break before its grand return in 2027, leaving audiences with plenty of narrative developments to digest from the ongoing Elbaph Arc.
The Journey Through Elbaph
Today's final episode of the year, titled “Elbaph in Despair – Diabolical Covenant, ‘Domi Reversi’,” delivered critical plot progression as the Straw Hat crew navigates the mythical land of giants. The broadcast also highlighted recent major casting additions, notably superstar voice actor Yuichi Nakamura stepping into the role of the giant prince Loki, alongside fresh additions rounding out the mysterious Knights of God.
Alongside the narrative momentum, Toei Animation refreshed the sonic landscape of the series with new theme songs. AiNA THE END stepped up to perform the opening theme, titled “Luminous,” while Jisoku 36km contributed the ending theme, “That Future,” setting a distinct tone for the ongoing confrontations.
A Massive Horizon for the Franchise
Eiichiro Oda’s legendary manga continues to shatter records globally, having surpassed 600 million circulating copies worldwide earlier this year. As fans await the anime's return in 2027, the wider franchise has an unprecedented slate of multimedia projects on the horizon, including WIT Studio’s highly anticipated remake series, upcoming theatrical features like ONE PIECE FILM GOD VALLEY, and new video game adaptations.
