The upcoming original adventure fantasy anime Welsh & Shedar (Aoki Densho: Welsh & Shedar) has officially locked in its broadcast schedule. The series is set to premiere on October 2, 2026, starting on TOKYO MX, with streaming platforms picking up the title shortly after. Alongside the release date confirmation, production teams have shared the official synopsis and preview stills for the highly anticipated first episode.
Originating from the creative minds behind the MMORPG Dofus at French studio Ankama, Welsh & Shedar centers around legendary artifacts known as the Dofus, which are said to have birthed the world itself. The narrative follows two young men from vastly different backgrounds whose fates entwine as powerful factions vie for control over the divine items. The queen of the massive Bonta continent, Zabel, seeks to leverage the Dofus for absolute conquest, leaving oppressed citizens defenseless against her might.
The animation is being produced by Studio Musket under the direction of Naoki Horiuchi. The voice cast features a stellar lineup, including Riya Yasuda as Welsh and Yuki Kaji as Shedar. They are joined by Yuko Kaida as Zabel, Makoto Furukawa as Joris, Wataru Takagi as Kahn Karkass, Risa Keyama as Bechamel, Lisa Hayamizu as Mama Caroni, and Shou Hayami as Azalâr.
