The highly anticipated television anime adaptation of the hit WEBTOON series Overgeared (Tempart: Item no Chikara) has officially charted its course for an October 2, 2026 premiere. Ahead of the broadcast, production details, voice cast rosters, and a collection of first-look preview stills for the opening episode, titled "Legendary Class Transfer," have been unveiled.
Based on the original web novel by Saenal (MAYA&MARU), adapted by Monohumbug (REDICE STUDIO), and illustrated by Team Argo, Overgeared follows the quintessential underdog tale of Shin Youngwoo. Trapped in a life of debt and menial labor, he seeks financial salvation inside SATISFY, a massive virtual reality game boasting two billion players where in-game wealth translates directly to the real world.
Production Pedigree & Cast
The animation is being helmed by J.C.Staff, with Ayako Kono sitting in the director's chair. The main protagonist, Grid, will be brought to life by voice actor Ryota Suzuki, leading a formidable voice cast that includes Asami Seto as Yura, Saya Fukuzumi as Euphemina, Shuntaro Takayama as Lauel, and Riho Sugiyama as Jishka, alongside numerous other industry veterans.
In the opening episode, Grid undertakes a high-difficulty S-rank quest issued by Earl Ashur at the edge of the northern continent. Stressed by relentless microtransactions and crushing game mechanics, he stumbles upon a legendary item: the 'Pagma's Rare Book,' granting access to the ultra-rare 'Descendant of Pagma' blacksmithing class.
Opting to pivot toward crafting his own overpowered gear rather than settling for standard quest rewards, Grid finds himself hunted by the Earl for contract violations. Stripped to a negative level and left in near-naked destitution, his grueling journey from zero to legend begins.
Overgeared Episode 1, "Legendary Class Transfer," will broadcast starting October 2, 2026, across TOKYO MX, BS11, and streaming platforms led by Prime Video.
