Dark fantasy fans have reason to rejoice as Kyou Shirodaira, the renowned mind behind In/Spectre (Kyokou Suiri), prepares to return to one of his earliest and most striking worlds. Square Enix's Monthly Shounen Gangan X account officially revealed that a brand-new continuation of the cult-classic Vampire Juujikai (The Record of a Fallen Vampire) manga is officially in production.
The Creative Reunion
Titled Vampire Juujikai: Inu ni wa Inu no Uta (Vampire Cross World: A Song for Dogs), the sequel reunites Shirodaira with original illustrator Yuri Kimura. The upcoming project is scheduled to debut in the magazine's November issue, hitting shelves on October 9. This marks a major homecoming for the creative duo, whose original 2003–2007 run on Monthly Shounen Gangan captured readers with its intricate lore, brutal action, and atmospheric Gothic styling.
Legacy of the Fallen Vampire
The original nine-volume series chronicled a sweeping, bloody conflict between humans, vampires, and otherworldly threats, leaving an enduring imprint on 2000s dark fantasy manga.
