Streaming platform Crunchyroll has expanded its international catalog by launching the English dub for the first two episodes of Tougen Anki: Nikko Kegon Falls Arc. The sequel continuation adapts the ongoing dark urban fantasy manga written and illustrated by Yura Urushibara, following the modern-day blood conflict between descendants of the Oni and the Momotaro legend.
Darker Horizons in Nikko
In the new arc, protagonist Shiki Ichinose and his fellow Rasetsu Academy students face escalating tensions within the Oni ranks. Following intense conflicts in Kyoto and Nerima, classmate Yaoroshi rejects the school's pacifist philosophy regarding friendship, opting instead to join General Hayate Todoroki’s radical Oni Brigade. Shiki and his peers track Yaoroshi to a secluded research facility near the dry Nikko Kegon Falls, where dark experiments threaten to consume noncombatants in the ongoing war.

Animation duties for the series remain at Studio Hibari with director Ato Nonaka and assistant director Hiroyuki Hashimoto at the helm. Script supervision is led by Yukie Sugawara, while Ryoko Amisaki provides character designs. The energetic musical score is composed by Kohta Yamamoto with music production handled by Pony Canyon.
The original manga, Tougen Anki: Legend of the Cursed Blood, has been serialized in Akita Publishing's Weekly Shōnen Champion since June 2020. Yen Press distributes the English print edition across North America.
