Shueisha's newly minted global digital manga initiative, Manga Million, has officially expanded its catalog with the inclusion of Hiromasa Okujima's dark comedic thriller, Together with Serial-san (Serial-san to Issho). The series brings a uniquely unhinged premise to the international platform, centering on a bizarre domestic arrangement born out of sheer desperation.
The narrative kicks off as a nationwide panic over a sensational serial murder case intersects with the life of Chihiro Yoshida, a college student who prioritizes an existence of total freedom. When the infamous killer unexpectedly turns up on his doorstep, Yoshida negotiates a survival tactic that defies all logic: he proposes that the murderer assume his identity and move in. What follows is a high-stakes charade blending tension and dark humor, orchestrated by an author celebrated for distinct character artistry.
