The upcoming dark fantasy adaptation The Vermilion Mask has officially locked in its premiere date, announcing that the series will debut in Japan on October 10, 2026. Alongside the release date, production committees revealed a striking new key visual, a comprehensive second main trailer, and vital theme song details. Rock band MAN WITH A MISSION handles the opening theme titled "Firestarter," while yutori contributes the song "Koe."
The newest promotional preview offers a deeper look at the high-stakes mask battles set to animate the screen. An English-subtitled edition of the trailer has also been made widely accessible for international audiences eagerly following the adaptation.
Expanded Voice Cast and Staff Pedigree
Six prominent voice actors join the already stacked roster. The newly announced cast features Kenji Nojima as Hien, Aoi Koga as Lasgarl, Yuki Shin as Clown, Akihisa Wakayama as Rinne, Aya Endo as The Mask of Necromancy, and Yui Horie as Master. They round out an ensemble that is anchored by Taihi Kimura starring as protagonist Peru d’Arrest.
Behind the lens, 100studio spearheads the animation production. Direction is led by Tetsuaki Watanabe, recognized for his work on Blue Lock Season 1, working alongside assistant director Gai Hasako and series composer Daisuke Ohigashi. Character designs and chief animation direction are managed by Hisashi Higashijima, while the atmospheric score is composed by Arisa Okehazama, known for her contributions to Jujutsu Kaisen and The Apothecary Diaries.
Dark Origins and Streaming Plans
Based on the action fantasy manga written by Dr. Poro and illustrated by Nabana Naba, the series originates from Shonengahosha’s YOUNGKING Ours magazine, where it began serialization in February 2021. Crunchyroll has secured streaming rights for the global audience and will preview the adaptation early as part of its September 2026 Anime Nights Sneak Peek theatrical event.
