The undercover hitman Akira Sato is set to resume his peaceful civilian life—or try to—as the television anime adaptation of Katsuhisa Minami’s crime comedy manga The Fable officially announced a second season. According to updates from the franchise's official website, The Fable Season 2 will premiere in January 2027. Alongside the timeframe, the production team released a teaser trailer showcasing what lies ahead for the legendary assassin attempting a deadly sabbatical.
Core Production Team and Voice Cast Return
Legendary anime director Ryōsuke Takahashi (Armored Trooper Votoms, Phoenix) returns to helm the second season at studio Tezuka Productions. Sci-fi author Yūya Takashima resumes series composition duties alongside co-writer Mayumi Morita (Black Jack TV). Character design responsibilities remain with Kyūma Ōshita and Saki Hasegawa, with Yasuyuki Urakami handling sound direction. Joined by new music composer Yo Tsuji (Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deductions), the creative core ensures stylistic continuity for Sato's quirky suburban misadventures.
