The announcement, accompanied by a dynamic new main visual, was unveiled during the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2026, building upon the initial season renewal confirmation first shared in September 2025.
Building on the narrative momentum of the adaptation, the upcoming episodes are set to tackle the fan-favorite “Kaguya Arc.” The franchise's television revival kicked off in April 2025 with an ambitious two-cour broadcast run that introduced modern audiences to the high-energy swordplay and mythological lore originally crafted by legendary mangaka Gosho Aoyama.
Long before author Gosho Aoyama became a household name with Detective Conan, his creative footprint was established by the original Yaiba: Samurai Legends manga serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday from September 1988 to December 1993 across 24 volumes. While the classic 1993 anime adaptation captured a generation of viewers across 52 episodes, this modern iteration continues to bridge generations of fans worldwide through international platforms like Netflix.
