Studio CloverWorks has released a new promotional trailer for the television anime adaptation of The Case Files of Biblia Bookstore (Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou), locking in an official Japanese broadcast premiere for April 2027 alongside an expanded voice cast lineup.
Cast Expansion
The latest promotional video introduces four key supporting characters who frequently cross paths with the quiet Kamakura antiquarian shop:
- Saeko Kamijo as Nao Kosuga
- Yohei Azakami as Kikuya Kasai
- Wataru Takagi as Shida
- Reo Osanai as Ayaka Shinokawa
The newly announced actors join the core duo leading the production: Riko Akechi as the reclusive yet brilliant proprietor Shioriko Shinokawa, and Shunsuke Takeuchi voicing Gora Daisuke, the bibliophobic assistant assisting her literary inquiries.
Creative Team and Legacy
Director Mamoru Kanbe (SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary, The Perfect Insider) helms the adaptation at CloverWorks alongside assistant director Ayako Kurata. Series composition is handled by Toshiya Oono, character designs are adapted for animation by Jun Nakai, and Takahiro Obata provides the original musical score.
Written by En Mikami with illustrations by Hagu Koshijima, the original mystery light novel series debuted under Kadokawa's Media Works Bunko imprint in 2011. The narrative revolves around a cozy secondhand bookshop in Kamakura, where Shioriko utilizes historical bibliographical records, marginalia, and human psychology to unravel the personal secrets bound within rare volumes.
