Japanese duo Yorushika has premiered a stunning animated music video for their latest single, “Beyond the Clouds, Only Me Downwind” («Kumo o Nukete Kazashimo e Watashi dake»). Serving as the high-energy opening theme for The Apothecary Diaries Season 3, the track immediately sets an atmospheric tone for Maomao’s continuing courtroom and palace investigations during the currently airing first cour.
The stylized animation draws thematic inspiration from the Hundun, a legendary faceless and winged creature of ancient Chinese mythology. Renowned director Ryu Kato—who previously helmed visual pieces for Yorushika's “Aporia” and “The First Night”—collaborated closely with composer n-buna on the storyboards. The creative team also features illustrator Mimei Aoume, celebrated for lending their distinct color-pencil aesthetic to memorable sequences like Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2's ending animation. Together with Minako Kato, the team handled painting and core motion duties to craft a distinct, artistic presentation.
The single is now streaming digitally across major platforms including Spotify and Apple Music. Meanwhile, the television anime adaptation of Natsu Hyuga's acclaimed historical mystery light novels continues its broadcast. Following the debut of Season 3’s first cour on October 2, the production will return for its second cour in April 2027, with international availability streaming globally on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
