Japanese television network TBS has revealed the second major wave of updates for its flagship anime celebration event, Anime no Ba, scheduled to take place across Akasaka Sacas and TBS Akasaka BLITZ Studio on November 7, 2026. Designed as an immersive urban gathering, the event bridges traditional broadcasting, creator showcases, and live entertainment.
Star-Studded Talk Shows and Anisong Panels
A central attraction of the gathering is the special Anisong talk panel hosted inside TBS Akasaka BLITZ Studio. Prominent anime enthusiasts Toshiya Miyata and Daisuke Sakuma will join voice actors Ayana Taketatsu and Akari Kito to discuss their personal favorite anime soundtracks and studio memories. Highlights from the discussion will be broadcast live to the outdoor display screens at Akasaka Sacas plaza.
In addition to stage panels, the festival grounds will host several high-profile anime installations and live presentations:
- Evangelion Unit-01 Photo Spot: A massive six-meter-wide installation portraying Unit-01 bursting through urban rubble.
- Rilakkuma Stage Appearance: Character greetings featuring Rilakkuma and Awawaneko for attending families.
- DigiCon6 ASIA Ceremony: The official awards ceremony for the 28th edition of the regional short animation contest.
- DJ Waka Live Set: A dedicated J-Pop and anisong set on the outdoor plaza stage.
Stage Presentations and Limited Merchandise
The event roster features dedicated talk shows for major upcoming adaptations, including the upcoming theatrical film Takopi's Original Sin: Thank You, See You Tomorrow (Takopi no Genzai -Arigatou, Mata Ashita-) and the anime adaptation of Behind the Supermarket, Smoking with You (Super no Ura de Yani Suu Futari), featuring voice actors such as Hiro Shimono.
Attendees will also find exclusive pop-up merchandise for Neon Genesis Evangelion alongside a dedicated food truck collaboration with Bakudanyaki Honpo, serving special menus inspired by Takopi's Original Sin throughout the festival.
