The upcoming Tank Chair TV anime adaptation has released its second main promotional video, alongside key casting updates and preview details for its opening theme. Produced by Polygon Pictures, the highly anticipated sci-fi action series is officially scheduled to premiere in Japan on October 4, 2026.
The newly unveiled trailer offers fans a substantial look at the kinetic animation style and introduces the series' opening theme song, "DALALA", performed by the acclaimed Japanese rock band SiM. Alongside the video preview, production revealed that veteran voice actress Megumi Ogata is joining the ensemble as Sensei, the founder of the enigmatic Academy organization. Ogata brings her extensive voice acting pedigree to the role, having previously voiced characters such as Tokugawa Iemochi in the Blue Miburo series.
Ogata joins a previously announced main cast featuring Koki Uchiyama as Nagi Taira, Minori Fujidera as Shizuka Taira, Gakuto Kajiwara as Naozumi Kurosaka, Saori Hayami as Toko Kurosaka, Yurina Amami as Dr. Radio, and Gen Sato as Uzu. Behind the camera, the series is co-directed by Tadahiro Yoshihara and Hiroaki Ando, with Yoshihara also managing series composition and co-writing scripts alongside Ando. Character designs are provided by Yuki Moriyama, with musical compositions handled by Masaru Yokoyama.
Based on the manga created by Manabu Yashiro, Tank Chair began serialization on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket platform before moving to Monthly Comic Sirius. The narrative unfolds on Guicheng Island, a brutal territory where genetic doping fuels gang warfare. The story follows Shizuka Taira, a young girl undertaking lethal assassination contracts, while her older brother Nagi—a formidable fighter paralyzed after taking a bullet to protect her—serves as her secret weapon, awakening only when confronted with murderous intent.
Living on Guicheng Island, called “the most dangerous town in the universe,” is no easy task. Genetic doping is common for gangs to gain ultimate power. Shizuka, a young girl, takes on the most dangerous of assassin jobs, but she’s not the one doing the killing. Rather, it’s her brother, Nagi, a strong assassin who took a bullet to protect his sister, leaving him in a comatose state and having to use a wheelchair. However, Shizuka has figured out the key to waking her brother up: he must be faced with murderous intent! Thus begins a violent journey of recovery, battling the most dangerous foes!
