The October issue of Kadokawa's Comic Flapper magazine has published the final chapter of Aki Shimizu's manga adaptation of Suikoden: Star Leap (Gensō Suikoden: Star Leap), bringing the print spin-off to a close. Shimizu originally launched the manga serialization in November 2025 to accompany Konami's mobile and PC role-playing project.
Set prior to the events of the original 1995 PlayStation masterpiece and following the narrative timeline of Suikoden V, Star Leap centers around the Rune of Change—one of the 27 legendary True Runes. The story follows the village chief's son alongside companions Hisui, Shirin, and Shapur as a tragic raid shatters their peaceful lakeside community, thrusting them into an epic geopolitical conflict.
Franchise Expansion and Upcoming Anime
Konami officially launched the Suikoden: Star Leap game for iOS and Android devices in Japan, with an upcoming global release slated for PC via Steam. The broader revival of Konami's legendary role-playing franchise also encompasses the recent arrival of the Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars collection, as well as an eagerly anticipated television anime adaptation of Suikoden II directed by Yūzō Satō at KONAMI animation, scheduled to premiere in October.
