Shūichi Shigeno's ongoing street racing series Subaru and Subaru (Subaru to Subaru) is taking a temporary hiatus. According to an announcement in the 43rd issue of Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine, the manga will pause serialization before returning in the magazine's 48th issue on October 26.
Launched by Shigeno in July 2025, the manga expands the shared universe of the legendary Initial D and its successor MF Ghost. The narrative follows two new drivers, Subaru Sato from Gunma Prefecture and Subaru Kudo from Kanagawa, as they enter Japan's high-stakes MFG street racing circuit exactly one year after the events of previous arcs.
International publisher Kodansha USA Publishing previously licensed the series for English release, scheduling the first compiled volume for April 6, 2027. Meanwhile, Japanese readers can anticipate the return of the petrol-fuelled drama later this autumn.
