The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the SPY×FAMILY anime adaptation has set social media ablaze with a hilarious new promotional video featuring voice actors Takuya Eguchi and Saori Hayami tackling the chaotic Anya drawing challenge.
Tatsuya Endo's original manga, serialized in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ application, follows the extraordinary daily lives of the Forger family: a master spy operating under the alias Lloyd Forger, an assassin wife named Yor, and their adopted telepathic daughter, Anya. The television anime adaptation, co-produced by WIT STUDIO and CloverWorks, first premiered in April 2022, followed by a second season in October 2023, with Season 3 arriving in October 2025 alongside the massive box office success of the theatrical film SPY×FAMILY CODE: White.
The Viral Drawing Challenge
As part of extra promotional material from the anime's recent special events, the staff published footage capturing Eguchi (voice of Loid), Hayami (voice of Yor), and Kenichiro Matsuda (voice of Bond) attempting a structured drawing song designed to illustrate the series' iconic pink-haired psychic. What followed was an unexpected descent into abstract artistic terror that instantly captured the internet's attention.
Saori Hayami began the challenge with surprising confidence, though her hand quickly faltered as she attempted to map out Anya's signature bangs and facial structure, resulting in a bewildered square-faced depiction that left fans both amused and baffled. Prompting an immediate wave of playful reactions online, viewers affectionately dubbed her unique style with amused disbelief.
Things escalated further when Loid Forger's voice actor chimed in. Attempting to defend himself, Eguchi posted online pleading with fans to believe that his co-star's drawing was the truly concerning one. However, internet users quickly pointed out that Eguchi's own artistic attempt entirely ignored the basic lyrical instructions of the song, resulting in a terrifying conceptual monstrosity devoid of human anatomy that fans jokingly compared to cursed artifacts.
