The staff behind Kyoto Animation's acclaimed musical drama Sound! Euphonium, The Final Movie Part 2 (Saishū Gakushō Hibike! Euphonium Kōhen) have released a striking new promotional video featuring fresh animated footage. The special release arrives as the definitive conclusion to the decade-long high school concert band odyssey.
To celebrate the theatrical launch, director Taichi Ogawa shared a special commemorative illustration via the franchise's official X (formerly Twitter) account, capturing the emotional resonance of the band's final movement.
The Grand Finale
Following the emotional trajectory of the third television season in 2024, Kyoto Animation returns to theaters with a narrative billed as the ultimate send-off for Kumiko Oumae and her fellow musicians at Kitauji High School. Chief Director Tatsuya Ishihara and Director Taichi Ogawa have steered the project alongside scriptwriter Jukki Hanada, who penned entirely new theatrical sequences and unadapted musical performances.
The stellar voice cast returns in full force, anchored by Tomoyo Kurosawa as Kumiko Oumae, alongside Ayaka Asai, Moe Toyota, and Chika Anzai. With music composed by Akito Matsuda under the banners of Lantis and Heart Company, the final chapter promises a resounding crescendo for one of modern animation's most cherished cultural touchstones.
