A poignant new trailer has surfaced for Sound! Euphonium, The Final Movie Part 2, marking the emotional theatrical curtain call for the Kitauji High School Concert Band. The film officially began its run across Japanese theaters on September 11, 2026, following the April premiere of its initial counterpart.
This two-part theatrical project recontextualizes the events of 2024's television broadcast of Sound! Euphonium Season 3. Rather than an ordinary compilation, the production features an overhauled scenario along with freshly animated concert sequences and musical arrangements designed specifically for theatrical acoustics.
Creative Leadership at Kyoto Animation
Veteran Kyoto Animation mainstay Tatsuya Ishihara continues in his capacity as chief director, while Taichi Ogawa directs the feature. Longtime series collaborator Jukki Hanada penned the updated script. The visual aesthetic honors character designs originated by the late Shoko Ikeda alongside Kazumi Ikeda.
The central ensemble cast features returning voice talent:
- Tomoyo Kurosawa as Kumiko Omae
- Chika Anzai as Reina Kosaka
- Ayaka Asai as Hazuki Kato
- Moe Toyota as Sapphire Kawashima
- Haruka Tomatsu as Mayu Kuroe
Based on the novel series by Ayano Takeda originally published in 2013, the franchise has sustained critical acclaim for over a decade through television seasons, the spin-off masterwork Liz and the Blue Bird, and multiple theatrical features. This final chapter cements Kumiko's tenure as club president and Kitauji's pursuit of national gold.
