The television anime adaptation of Muchimaro's Seitokai ni mo Ana wa Aru! manga, serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine, officially premiered. The first broadcast introduced viewers to the eccentric student council of Fujinari Private Academy through protagonist Ume Mizunoe.
Opening Theme and Production Pedigree
Directed by Naoyuki Tatsuwa at studio Passione, the adaptation faithfully captures the comedic timing and vibrant character dynamics of the original four-panel manga. Series composition is handled by Masahiro Yokotani, with character designs by Makoto Imamura. The opening theme features Sangatsu no Phantasia performing 'Kaze no Naka wa Hashiru kkyanai!', accompanied by animation that fans speculate may feature evolving visual variations throughout the broadcast run.
A Chaotic Introduction to the Student Council
The narrative kicks off when freshman Ume Mizunoe is pressured by his homeroom teacher, Toshimi Hiratsuka, to join the student council to boost his academic standing and save him from failing science. What awaits Ume in the student council room is far from a standard extracurricular activity. He encounters a colorful cast of officers, including the composed yet unconventional Arisu Terui, the unassuming public relations officer Botan Oidori—who is biologically male despite a feminine appearance—and the formidable student council president Hisako Kotobuki.
The series airs across Japanese television networks, with AT-X and select streaming platforms providing uncensored broadcast versions. Nanawo Akari performs the ending theme, 'Pi', rounding out an energetic premiere that sets the tone for a distinctive romantic comedy adaptation.
