Kadokawa has broken a long silence regarding the television anime adaptation of Nahuse's Rebuild World light novel series, unveiling the official chief production staff alongside a striking new key visual. Fans have eagerly awaited updates since the project was first announced at Anime Expo in July 2023.

The animated adaptation is being produced at studio Raging Bull, with Tsukasa Sakurai taking the helm as chief director. Joining the production team are series director Shingo Uchida, script supervisor Naoki Tozuka, and character designers led by Hiromi Katō. The core voice cast features Daiki Yamashita as the ambitious street orphan Akira, Yurika Kubo as the enigmatic digital entity Alpha, and Honoka Inoue as Sheryl.

A Crumbling Sci-Fi Landscape

Originating as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō and Kakuyomu before Kadokawa picked up the print editions, Rebuild World is celebrated for its harsh cyberpunk aesthetic and high-stakes relic hunting. The story follows Akira, a destitute slum kid who risks everything in the decaying ruins of a fallen human civilization. His fate takes a drastic turn when he encounters Alpha, a mysterious phantom woman who offers to train him for survival.

English-language readers can experience the franchise through J-Novel Club, which licenses both the original light novels and Kirihito Ayamura's manga adaptation. As production ramps up under Raging Bull, anticipation is building to see how the brutal world of ancient ruins and rogue bioweapons will translate to the screen.
