Vocaloid producer, illustrator, and animator HarumakiGohan has released the first teaser preview for the upcoming second installment of Playing Sister (Onee-chan Gokko). Titled "Investigation" ("Chousa-hen"), the new preview offers a haunting glimpse into the continuing psychological mystery following the web series' debut earlier this year.
Produced by HarumakiGohan's in-house team at Studio Gohan, Playing Sister is envisioned as a three-episode independent animation project planned to run its course over roughly one year. HarumakiGohan serves as both writer and director, integrating original music tracks and stylized visual storytelling into an eerie rural science-fiction backdrop.
The Kagami Mystery
"The girl at home with you… isn’t your sister." In the distant future, on the outskirts left behind by the rapid concentration of advanced science and technology in urban areas, lies a remote mountain village known as Kagami Village. Old folklore warns that misbehavior summons a "Double." When middle schooler Akane Higure welcomes back her older sister Sui after a year in the hospital, a cryptic phone call shatters her reality.
While an exact launch date for the second episode has not been specified, it will stream across YouTube, niconico, and bilibili with multi-language subtitle tracks, mirroring the release framework of the first episode.
