Tickets are now on sale for the limited North American theatrical run of the brand-new 4K remaster of Ninja Scroll, scheduled across the United States and Canada for October 4, 5, and 7, 2026.
HIDIVE and Iconic Events Releasing are bringing the milestone three-day event to roughly 600 theaters. Screenings on October 4 will feature original Japanese audio with English subtitles, while October 7 and select screenings offer flexibility between subbed and dubbed formats. Madhouse's masterwork of dark fantasy and kinetic swordplay has rarely looked this sharp.
Behind the Restoration
Supervised directly by original writer and director Yoshiaki Kawajiri and produced by Sentai, the meticulous restoration process began with a fresh 4K scan of the original 35mm negative at 3840 × 2160 resolution. Technicians executed frame-by-frame damage repair and precise color grading to forge an archival-quality digital master that preserves the grit of early 90s cel animation while giving it unprecedented clarity.
Originally unleashed upon audiences in 1993 by Madhouse, Ninja Scroll follows Jubei Kibagami, a wandering swordsman who saves a female ninja and becomes entangled in a web of political corruption and supernatural terror. Alongside a formidable cast of demonic adversaries, the film established a gold standard for adult-oriented anime action worldwide.
Theatrical Stills
North American fans will finally experience the enhanced fidelity on the big screen. Below is a selection of official stills showcasing the breathtaking visual cleanup achieved in this new master.
