South Korea-based virtual reality development studio Pixelity Inc. has officially begun streaming an atmospheric teaser video for Evangelion: Δ Cross Reflections. As the pioneering extended reality project derived from Hideaki Anno's legendary franchise, the title aims to redefine how players experience the apocalyptic tension of Tokyo-3 through immersive VR and mixed reality mechanics.
Initially showcased during the San Francisco Hands-on Preview event, the project serves as the inaugural chapter in a planned narrative trilogy. The upcoming game adapts the intense narrative arc spanning the first 11 episodes of the seminal 1995 television anime, while weaving an original storyline that weaves through the timeline of the complete 26-episode broadcast run. Players step into the shoes of an aspiring pilot, engaging in tactical cooperative missions alongside familiar faces and brand-new NERV trainees.
Following a scheduled adjustment that pushed the launch window from 2026, the first installment is set to premiere in 2027. Pixelity has also lifted the veil on the stellar roster of voice talent lending their skills to the supporting cast:
- Manaka Iwami as Erisa Nozaki
- Gakuto Kajiwara as Martin Dasen Holloway
- Tasuku Hatanaka as Tomohito Yagi
- Hana Hishikawa as Rimi Okada
- Takayuki Nakatsukasa as Shogo Yamamoto
- Genta Nakamura as Haruki Utsumi
Studio Khara's monumental sci-fi universe continues to expand across multiple mediums, with recent anniversary projects keeping the momentum alive for enthusiasts worldwide. As development continues on this ambitious virtual reality adaptation, anticipation remains high for how modern interactive technology will capture the psychological depth of Shinji Ikari's harrowing journey.
